Production & balance

Cropping phase 4   Production & balance

Crop
After the first harvest the crop's fruit load has to come in balance with the crop's growth. The crop will convert the available amount of radiation into re-growth and production towards the next cropping phase. Re-growth should not be explosive or jerky and a good balance between vegetative and generative plant parts is necessary.

Roots
The crop growing in size needs more nutrition and under certain conditions also more water. The uptake of nutrition and water require a large and active root system. The appropriate water and nutrition management combined with adjusted climate management encourage root development and secure the uptake of water and nutrition to meet the crop's needs. The advice takes weather changes and seasonal influences into consideration.
